Many Utahns have struggled to find affordable housing because of financial stresses from the COVID-19 pandemic and exorbitant home prices. Looking for a rental with a dog or cat as part of the family can be even more difficult — prospective renters might be turned away from units that aren’t pet friendly, or may face significant application fees and deposit requirements.
